The beautiful spring-like weather we have been experiencing the past week will soon be a thing of the past. Cooler air returns to the area today and winter weather returns tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for our listening area, and says this storm will pack a punch. Their latest update on Facebook says:

A strong winter storm will impact the area Thursday night through Friday night. Heavy snow accumulations could be seen from southeast MN into north central WI with lighter amounts to the southeast. Some icing could also occur during this event, from Thursday night into Friday. The exact track of the storm is still uncertain and any shift could have a huge impact on precipitation type and amounts. Keep close tabs on latest forecasts, especially if you have travel plans.

It's beginning to look like we'll have some school delays and closings for you on Friday. Dunken and Samm's winter weather coverage is brought to you by Sylvan Learning of Rochester. They will also have the latest road-condition reports for you tomorrow morning.
