Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A Rochester woman is expected to face charges for an early morning traffic wreck near the Mayo Civic Center. Police also say the 20 year old fled the scene, leaving behind an injured passenger.

Police received a 911 call at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday from a person who discovered an unoccupied car that had crashed into a light pole. There was no sign of a driver but a man was found on the sidewalk at the scene of the wreck, which was near the intersection of Civic Center Drive and 1st St SE. The 38 year old  man was taken to St. Mary’s.

A short while later, officers found the suspected driver about a block away and they detected a strong odor of alcohol. She was also taken to St. Mary’s for treatment of her injuries, which included a bruised face from an inflated airbag.
