The hoopla began this summer after an Ohio mother tweeted out a picture taken in a Target store that listed two sections for building toys, “Building Sets” and “Girls’ Building Sets.”  The caption under her tweet read, “Don’t do this, Target.”

The picture was re-tweeted 2-thousand times, and the online debate about who was to blame for gender-based toys and signs began: Were toy makers or toy buyers responsible?

Target posted a blog to their website saying they “never want guests or their families to feel frustrated or limited by the way things are presented,” and, after receiving many suggestions by Target shoppers, they’ve opted to change their gender-based sign policies.

The blog post adds the transition will take a few months, but changes will happen “across all stores.”  When it comes to phasing out gender-based signs, the company simply stated, “We heard you, and we agree.”

So here's my question: Do they plan on taking the gender-based signs off the restrooms too?  Because, it seems people always find a reason to complain no matter what over the simplest or stupid things.  Let's get a grip, America.
