For the 14th straight year, the Rochester Police Activity League will have their annual Shop with a Cop program.

A huge collection of Rochester Police Officers, Olmsted Country Sheriff’s Deputies, amongst many others will all gather at Wal-Mart North in Rochester this Saturday, December 9th, along with 75 area students in need for this annual holiday giving program.

Their mission: Help make the holiday season a little brighter for area students and families in need.

From Noon to 3pm, those students will pair up with the officers and shop throughout the store for as many holiday gifts as their $110.00 gift card will allow, which they'll receive at the beginning. Budgeting is the key, as the kids are encouraged to purchase a gift for each person on their holiday list.

Lunch with ice cream, a tour of police vehicles and K-9 demonstrations will also be a part of this epic afternoon.

The goal of Shop with a Cop is to provide kids in need the opportunity to have a brighter Christmas, while also promoting positive relationships between police officers and area youth. All while enjoying a special day with an officer shopping for holiday gifts for loved ones.
