The Correct Way To Load Silverware In The Dishwasher

Jodie clicked the "submit a topic" idea on kroc.com and asked if silverware should face up or down in the dishwasher.   I've often wondered the same thing.   I usually place them up so the spraying water is unimpeded.   We conducted a quick listener survey this morning and people were split down the middle on what to do.

Here's the correct way to load silverware according to GE - You should place forks and knives with the handles up to protect hands, place spoon handles down if there is an unusually large load of silverware or utensils in the basket.  Otherwise, place spoon handles up also.  They also say you'll get better results when the silverware is evenly distributed.
