The Key to Happiness at Work

Bagels in the copy room - is my favorite email to see! Okay, so maybe not my favorite, but it does make me happy. When it comes to employee perks it's hard to top free food. A new survey conducted by grocery-delivery service Peapod, shows that companies who provide free food or snacks have happier employees compared with those who don't.

Of the full-time employees Peapod surveyed, 56% said they are "extremely" or "very" happy with their current job. That number is more than 10 percentage points higher, 67% , with employees that get treats from their company.

People LOVE food.

48% said if they were looking for a new job, they would factor company perks, including availability of snacks, in to their decision.
