The Original Patent For Toilet Paper Solves The Over vs Under Debate

I was so confused the first time my wife told me that I had replaced the toilet paper roll incorrectly.  I thought to myself - There was no toilet paper but now there is toilet paper so how the heck did I do it wrong?  That was the first time I had ever heard about the over/under debate.  My wife explained that the over method is the correct way to do it.

Turns out she was right. Someone just posted the original patent for the toilet paper roll from 1891, and in the drawings, the roll is in the "over" position - where the paper hangs to the front.
