The Rochester School Board held a four hour long meeting Tuesday night as it began the process of setting the school district's budget for next school year.

During his regular monthly appearance on Rochester Today with Tracy McCray and Andy Brownell, Superintendent Michael Muñoz indicated it was the first of three study sessions on the budget and covered a number of areas that are not part of the district's general fund.

That included the school systems food-service operations, which serves nearly 1.7 meals during the school year.  Muñoz noted the program enjoys a healthy fund balance, but federal regulations will force the district to boost the price of school lunches next year by a dime.
