The Struggles of Home Ownership – Bye Bye Beautiful Vines

Turning a house into a home - fun or annoying??! 

Here's what my house looked like BEFORE this weekend... This picture was actually taken several months ago, so those vines were MUCH thicker when we went to work yesterday.

One monster pile of vines, and some VERY sore fingers later, we have a bare house (well sort of... We still have a lot of work ahead of us). I feel like my house had a beard and now it just barely has a 5'oclock shadow - bittersweet.

Insurance companies hate me, hence the move towards baring my home. "The vines are extremely invasive and can ruin your home's siding and/or roof."

I loved the way my house looked kind of like a little California villa before, but I'm excited to know that it will be a lot less maintenance now that they're gone.
