Let me preface this story with a simple but accurate statement:  I love dogs.  I was lucky enough to have a dog as a kid and have been lucky to share eight great(mostly) years with my pure bread Beagle, Scout!

That's my boy!

Dog owners can attest to it; the love you have for your dog runs deep.  They become part of the family.  A piece of your life that, once they become a part of, would seem boring or lonely without.  It's that same love that helps you forgive 'em during the tough times, like when they decide to drop a nice deuce on your workout mat and let it sit all day so it sticks to it upon clean up.....

...or when you're already running late for work and enter the living room only to find two puke puddles of equal size and grotesqueness....

Somehow, you end up forgetting that stuff.

With that being said, I guess maybe my love runs only SO deep.  While Scout's been fortunate to have someone watch him when we travel, I'm not past putting him in a kennel if that's the only option available.  And while he's there, the only things I worry about are if he's gonna catch fleas or have the trots the whole time, NOT if he's going to be inconsolable because he misses the comforts of home.

Which is why I ask again; is this a little.....excessive?  See for yourself.
