There had been reports of break-ins at the closed hotel recently, so officers had been keeping an eye on the facility. According to the police report, an officer found an open door and a Rochester man and woman in a truck in the parking lot. In the bed of the truck, police found some copper piping. 54-year-old Roger Bishop was arrested for 3rd degree burglary.  A woman in the truck, 36-year-old Kelly Neumann was also taken into custody for giving a false name and she also had an outstanding warrant.

Police then questioned another man, 38-year-old Chad Westby, also of Rochester in a separate car nearby. He was found in possession of heroin, hypodermic needles and illegal possession of prescription drugs. The arrests occurred just after midnight Saturday morning. All are being held in the Olmsted County Jail.
