The incident happened July 22nd  at a residence located near Gage School. Police Captain John Sherwin says 37 year old Vondale Kincaide was released from the prison in Lino Lakes that morning and hooked up with a friend in the Twin Cities, identified as 32 year old Dion Abrams.  He was released from the same prison a week earlier.

They drove to Rochester and met with 24 year old Antonyo White. Abrams and White are brothers. According to the criminal complaint, White had been buying marijuana from the shooting victim and helped plan the robbery. Kincaide was picked to enter the home because the victim would not recognize him.

Kincaide has told police he went into the residence and confronted the 30 year old victim. Kincaide says he shot the man in the knee to “ calm him down. “  The man gave Kincaide two jars of marijuana and he left.

The victim told police about a small marijuana grow operation he had in his basement and that he sold the pot to some friends.  Sherwin says more arrests are possible.
