I'm not going to lie, I totally don't know how I passed my driver's test. I'll admit that I was all over the place - I was nervous! Here are the biggest mistakes that new drivers make, and it's NOT texting and driving.

My parallel parking job was horrendous - I was at least 2-3 feet away from the curb. I completely missed the 90 degree back, and had to play it cool like I meant to drive by it. It took me a good 10 minutes just to get the car where it needed to go (how is that passing???). Believe it or not, those are NOT the biggest mistakes that new drivers make.

  1. NOT USING TURN SIGNAL! Dear parents, good lord please teach your kid the importance of a blinker! There's only one thing worst than them being that jerkface that irritates people in traffic, that's them getting into an accident because they decided not to use it....
  2. NOT CHECKING BLIND SPOTS! You mean I can't see EVERYTHING in my mirrors??
  3. NOT KNOWING HOW TO USE WINDSHIELD WIPERS! This is hard to swallow - thinking of someone not knowing how to use the wipers BEFORE driving away. It's a huge distraction, especially if you need to attempt to use them on the highway.
