If you're like me, you feel that even bathing in a tub full of lotion for days on end would STILL leave your skin super dry! Winters in Minnesota are brutal, especially for the skin. I found a list of the best winter survival tips for your skin!

    Use a Humidifier

Last year I couldn't leave my house without a bottle of New Skin. My hands would not stop cracking (and I use lotion ALL THE TIME!) Recently, I invested in a humidifier. Not only has it significantly helped my skin, it's also helped me avoid the nastiness spreading like wildfire everywhere I turn. Typically, as soon as I'm sick, the rest of the winter is spent attempting to battle the crud. I did end up with a cold after travelling (without my humidifier obviously), but I credit the humidifier for drastically reducing the length and severity of the cold. Definitely worth the investment.

    Avoid Hot Showers

I'm told this all the time, but it's extremely hard not to soak up the warmth when it's so dang cold outside. Luke warm showers are recommended if you want to avoid extremely dry skin!

This includes washing your hands and face! Time to cool down the water temp.

    Stay Hydrated

I don't know about you, but I cannot seem to keep enough water in my body during the winter months. I'm always parched! Water is essential for keeping your skin hydrated (not to mention acne free).

    Don't Forget Face Lotion!

I finally invested in GOOD lotion! All my life, I've been using regular lotion (that is, IF I actually remembered to put it on in the first place), and it just was NOT cutting it. You should be moisturizing your WHOLE body EVERYDAY! Also, don't skip out on the sunscreen. Winter is just as important for sunscreen!

PLUS, exfoliating on a weekly basis will help get rid of the dead skin.
