Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Two people were assaulted during a home invasion in southeast Rochester late Wednesday night.

Officers were called to a residence in the 1700 block of 1st Ave SE around midnight and were told two men wearing Halloween masks and armed with handguns came in through an unlocked door.

Three men and a woman were there at the time. One of the men was punched and another was pistol whipped. He was taken to St. Mary’s for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Police Captain John Sherwin says the intruders fled with a large TV, some electronic items and cash. The victims - all in their 20’s - told police they have no idea who the intruders are.

Sherwin says this does not appear to be a random incident.

The home is located about a block south of the fairgrounds.
