Two From Faribault Injured In Crash With Truck On I-35
Two people were injured last night after an Iowa truck driver hit a car on I-35 in southern Minnesota.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the crash occurred on Interstate 35 in Freeborn County around 7:10 pm. The State Patrols report lists that sixty-four-year-old Duwayne Francis Paulsen, of Rockford, Iowa was driving a semi South when he moved from the left lane to the right lane and hit the rear-end of a 2002 Ford Taurus.
The driver of the Taurus was thirty-seven-year-old, Corey John Vanthomme, of Faribault. Also injured in the crash was a passenger, thirty-eight-year-old Wendy Marie Hanetraaf, of Faribault. Both suffered what were described as non-life threatening injuries and were taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea. Paulsen, the semi driver, was not hurt. The Minnesota State Patrol says all three were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
A dog was also in the vehicle at the time of the crash and escaped. The Albert Lea Police Department has shared this post in an effort to reunite the dog with his owner.
The Freeborn County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene of this accident.
