A State Trooper responding to an injury traffic crash involving a motorcycle and a deer collided with a car Friday afternoon in Cannon Falls in a crash that claimed two lives.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the deadly collision occurred around 2:30 p.m. near the intersection of Goodhue County Road 24 and 65th street on the south end of Cannon Falls. The State Patrol report indicates the trooper was headed south on 65th avenue when a car pulled out of a parking lot just south of the intersection and the two vehicles collided.

The two occupants of the car from Cannon Fall, 78-year-old Norman Scott and his 79-year-old wife Geneva Scott, were killed in the crash.  The trooper, a 48-year-old Scott Reps of Rochester, was airlifted to Saint Marys Hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

A third vehicle is also listed in the State Patrol report, but the driver and passenger from Marion, Iowa were not injured.
