Two athletes from the Rochester area have won weekly honors from the Northern Intercollegiate Conference.

Winona State quarterback Jack Nelson has been named the NSIC footfall offensive player of the week. The sophomore from Byron passed for 422 yards and three touchdowns and ran for a TD in the Warriors 42-34 win over the University of Mary on Saturday. Nelson is the first quarterback in Winona State history to record multiple 400-yard passing games in his college career.

Ashley Hinsch of Zumbrota was honored as the NSIC Volleyball Setter of the Week. She averaged a conference high 14.23 assist per set over four matches by 185 set assists, scored 10 kills on 18 swings, had three service aces, and six blocks in 13 sets last weekend.  Hinsch also hauled in 21 digs on the weekend.
