The uproar from neighbors and Minnesotans alike didn't stop the wrecking ball from destroying a piece of history this week. Where a stunning mansion once stood, now is a bare slate of dirt and debris. The nearly 100-year-old Pillsbury mansion is no more. KARE 11 got ariel footage post demolition:

It hurts my heart to see that video... If you missed my article last week, I was shared how bummed I was to see something so gorgeous with so much history, character and charm be on a short list to be destroyed. The mansion was once home to the Pillsbury family (yes, the brains behind the Pillsbury company) and was one of the most expensive houses in Minnesota. It sat on Lake Minnetonka.

Here's what the home used to look like. It was actually featured in a book - "Legendary Homes of Lake Minnetonka.” These pictures were taken back in 2010 by photographer Karen Melvin for that book.
