Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A reported confrontation at a downtown Rochester bar apparently played a role in a shooting early Friday.

Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis says the shooting was reported at 3:15 a.m. near the Eastridge Estates apartment complex along Marion Road.

A  22-year-old Rochester man was shot in the leg while walking with some friends in the intersection of 17th St. and 20th Ave SE. The group had just left the nearby Kwik Trip store after apparently being involved in a fight there - that was linked to the earlier confrontation.

Sadauskis says that’s where the shooting suspect also threatened the victim and his friends with a gun. They left and parked the car a few blocks away and began walking. Sadauskis says that’s when the suspect showed up and shot the victim.

Sadauskis says the victim has not been very cooperative with investigators.
