St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - Governor Mark Dayton has authorized state disaster assistance for Wabasha County.

The $143,000 will come from the State Disaster Contingency Fund and can be used to repair damaged public infrastructure and to cover the cost of cleaning up debris from the torrential rains and flooding that hit southern Minnesota on August 10 and 11th. Governor Dayton also authorized almost $310,000 in state disaster assistance for Renville County.

Assessments continue to determine if the damage from the storms in Minnesota meets the threshold for federal assistance.
