Rochester MN (KROC AM News) - A man who spent the night dodging Rochester police officers was finally apprehended early Tuesday morning and taken to St. Mary’s for treatment of hypothermia.

A spokesman says officers have been searching for 22-year-old Karlton Cannon since he was suspected of robbing a man of $2 earlier this month. Police learned around 10 p.m. Monday that Cannon was at an apartment in the 500 block of Northern Hills Drive NE. He fled on foot and a police dog was brought to the scene. The spokesman says there were two foot chases during the night and a perimeter was set up and it worked as it kept Cannon in the vicinity.

Around 4:30 Tuesday morning, Cannon knocked on an apartment door in the area and a woman let him in. She also called for an ambulance because he was suffering from exposure. Temperatures were around 10 below most of the night.

Officers became aware of the call and went to the apartment while Cannon was still there. Besides the local incident, he is also wanted on a federal warrant for a drug-related case.
