The patient in the video above is Seth Bayles. He is a rockstar in Rochester. He's known for his amazing donations to the Ronald McDonald House. He has donated more than one-million pop tabs to the local non-profit.

His doctor, Dr. Stulak from the Mayo Clinic, can be heard in the video telling Seth, “I am going to give something to you. You know we follow sports teams and things, but you know after we came and met your mom, people like you are the true hero.” The doctor then exits the room briefly and returns with an autographed football. The doctor and patient bonded over their love of the Pittsburgh Steelers. The ball was signed by Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger.

The video, posted on Seth's Journey Facebook, includes a message that reads, "We are beyond grateful for Mayo Clinic, Rochester. They never cease to amaze us. We regularly have our doctors go above and beyond in countless ways. Taking care of such a rare, complex patient is no easy feat.

To the Mayo Clinic doctors, nurses, support staff, volunteers, philanthropists, cleaning crew and everyone in between...THANK YOU for what you do day in and out. You are a huge blessing to us. The 5 hours of driving that it takes to get here from home, is well worth each and every mile!

We won't soon forget this day. A day Seth had a very complex, urgently needed surgery performed. But also a day when we saw the very best brought out in humanity. A day once again God orchestrated. God is in the details both big and small."
