Weather Channel’s Prediction for Summer in Southeast Minnesota
Wondering what the weather will be like this summer?
The experts at weather.com just released their long-range forecast for the summer of 2016. Boaters and beach-goers will be happy to see it includes hot weather.
Dr. Todd Crawford, chief meteorologist at The Weather Company's Energy division, explained the prediction in the report published at weather.com:
"The historically strong El Niño event is weakening rapidly and we should transition into La Niña conditions by summer and model guidance shows a rather dramatic reversal of the background tropical Pacific forcing signal that would favor a hot summer again, especially across the northern U.S."
Our winters can be pretty miserable so there's nothing worse than cool, wet, gray summers. I hope this forecast is accurate. I can't wait for bright sunshine and hot summer days even if it means a higher electric bill.
