I guess I've always used the requirement, "if you sweat while doing it" as my pass or fail test on whether something should be deemed a sport. I think fishing could be considered a sport, mostly because I've spent many a summer days sweating in an aluminum boat while reeling 'em in. Then again, with that reasoning, one could consider chess a sport if you're playing it in the sun on a July afternoon.

Regardless your "requirements" for deciding a hobby/sport, Harris Interactive a poll asking that what people considered a "sport". The results are sad/interesting.

The top three make sense, mostly because they've become activities we can drink to, and what says athletics better than alcohol, am I right? Here's how these "sports" ranked by the percentage who considered them as such:

 

So what placed between #10 and #12? NERDS UNITE! The imaginary game from Harry Potter, Quidditch, made the list.
