Please allow me to vent for a moment, as a certain stretch of road has gotten under my skin...

After traveling back and forth on it this past month while I moved from one home to another, West Circle Drive has the most frustrating string of stop lights in the entire city of Rochester. It's enough to give the most patient of drivers a severe case of road rage!

This is where the bane of my existence begins - at this intersection right here:

Seriously, it doesn't matter what time of day it is. Whether it's the middle of a busy work week or a quiet Sunday morning, if you hit of the red lights on this stretch of road, you're going to hit them all! I would know. too, because hauling all of my personal belongings from my rental home on 55th Street Northwest to my new house in the Country Club Manor area is a huge waste of time and gas!  On one trip, I listened to "Free Bird" and "Sweet Home Alabama" on my iPod before I even pulled into my driveway that night!

By the end of the move, I ended up taking Highway 52 to Highway 14 and then got off at the West Circle exit just so I could avoid all those stupid stop lights.

I mean, you've got be either lucky or speeding to not to hit all seven stoplights from Firestone Tire/Gander Mountain before you cross the Highway 14 bridge by Olmsted National Bank and the Kwik Trip pictured below:

To show my wife I wasn't exaggerating and being "dramatic" (her words, not mine), I started timing my journey from one house to the other. The average trek was 16 minutes. SIXTEEN! It was 8-10 minutes if I took the two highways... so what gives?  Also, why am I stopping at a red light for 2+ minutes where there's very little traffic coming from the other direction, as is almost always the case on Valleyhigh Drive? Someone needs to re-calibrate or reset the timing on all of these intersections, and do it FAST.

Thank you for allowing me to express my frustration for a couple minutes!

Is there a stretch of road that you hate in Rochester? If so, feel free to vent your own feelings about it below in the comment section. If anything, you'll feel better in getting it out in the open like I just did :)

Now let us never speak of this again.
