I can't be the only one thinking we've all become mindless drones on our phones, right?  A new survey says: kinda.I can't think of many things much worse than standing in an already-long line at the store, only be held up more by the shumck at the checkout making us stand around even longer 'cuz he's paying more attention to the person he's talking to on his cell rather than the cashier who wishes he could say, "hey idiot, time to pay and leave." Sadly, 34% of people are cool with doing just that at a store checkout, according to the survey by TheStreet.com.

47% are cool with you using your phone while walking down the street (which, whatever.  I'm fine as long as you remember I don't care about your conversation so keep it down.  Oh yeah, and look UP every now and again so you don't walk into me).

28% are okay with texting while dining out with friends and another 26% are fine with using (texting AND talking) during movie previews at the theater. 6% think it's okay to text during the actual movie and, somehow, 3% are perfectly content with TALKING ON THEIR PHONE DURING THE MOVIE (What?!?  I almost want to have that happen during a movie so I can drop your phone in your drink and watch the theater give a standing ovation)!!

Do you cringe in social settings when you think it's probably not the best time to be using a cell phone?
