today’s Thursdays on 1st and 3rd.

The National Weather Service says flash flooding has been reported in parts of northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin and in Mower County in southeast Minnesota. Flash flood warnings are in effect for those areas.  High water is already being reported in the Austin area.

There were reports of flooded roads in some areas, as well as mudslides and flooded basements. Some areas received 3 - 5 inches of rain during the overnight hours and another inch or two could fall through the morning - and more later today.
Parts of south central Minnesota received more rain overnight, causing even more flooding problems for areas that were pounded early yesterday.

Rivers, streams and creeks continue rising and some have jumped their banks. More flooding problems are expected into the weekend. The Mississippi is expected to reach flood stage in the Wabasha area tomorrow and could rise six more inches by Sunday.
