With St. Patrick's Day upon us, I did a little research to see exactly which Irish establishment was rated the best here in Rochester. Do you know who came out on top?

Well, according to this YELP listing of the Best Irish Pubs near Rochester, MN, Dooley's Pub, on 1st Av. in downtown Rochester, is rated number-one. (Although some of the reviewers question just how Irish it really is -- but then again, that same comment is also listed on just about every other Irish pub, too...)

Second on the list is McGoon's Pub & Restaurant, located on 2nd St. downtown. Then, the Yelp list recommends Whistle Binkies Old World Pub on Wellner Dr., followed by The Thirsty Belgian on South Broadway, and finally Whistle Binkies On The Lake, located on Woodlake Dr.

If you're looking for a true, really authentic Irish pub, however, this YELP list says you need to head north on Highway-52 to St. Paul, and hit up The Liffey, located on 7th St. West, near the Xcel Energy Center.

Also making the St. Paul list of Best Irish Pubs are: Patrick McGovern's Pub & Restaurant, Cork's Irish Pub, O'Gara's Bar & Grill, and the Dubliner Pub.

Do you agree, or is there a location that is mistakenly missing from these YELP lists? Where's you favorite place to enjoy a green beer on St. Patrick's Day?
