Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) -  It’s been over a month since the Rochester City Council cleared the way for Uber to begin operations but so far, the company has not submitted an application.

Uber first contacted the city about a year ago. The Lyft firm also expressed interest.

Staff and the council spent considerable time on an ordinance that would allow Uber and similar companies to do business in Rochester. The Council finally voted on the ordinance in December and it became effective a few weeks later.

An Uber representative in Minneapolis says they don’t have a specific timeline to submit an application but expect to have more information in the near future.
