According to a new study conducted by nutrition experts at Virginia Tech, school lunches are more nutritious than the ones being packed by parents.  The results showed more fat, sugary snacks, and sodas in packed lunches.  Packed lunches also had items like crackers and chips instead of fruits and veggies - both of which are always found in school lunches.

The one con of school lunches?  Their high sodium count needed to keep the foods from spoiling.

The experts did provide a tip for parents - Be sure to include a fruit, vegetable, protein and dairy.
