A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Rochester and neighboring towns in Mitchell, Howard, Floyd, Wabasha, Dodge, Olmsted, Winona, Mower, Fillmore, and Buffalo counties. The warning is in effect from 3:00 AM Wednesday morning through 6:00 PM Wednesday evening. Forecasters expect the snow to start late Tuesday and continue through much of the day on Wednesday with 5-7 inches of new accumulation.

There's a good chance schools will be delayed if not closed and travel will be difficult. You can get updated info on weather announcements and road-conditions with our mobile app. Read the statement from the National Weather Service below.

"Snow will impact travel late tonight through Wednesday, with
difficult to hazardous travel for the Wednesday morning commute.
Snowfall rates of 1 inch per hour are possible at times,
especially late tonight and Wednesday morning, which will create
snow covered roads and reduced visibility.
Several inches of new snow may already be on the ground at the
start of the commute across northeast Iowa and southeast
Minnesota. The snow will continue to spread northeast through
western and central Wisconsin early Wednesday morning.
Plan now for a difficult Wednesday morning commute."
