Winter Weather Advisory For SE MN; Storm Warning For Much of MN
Most of the southeast corner of Minnesota is under a winter weather advisory into Friday evening, while the rest of the south half of the state, along with sections of north-central and northeastern Minnesota and northern Wisconsin are under a winter storm warning. The National Weather Service is predicting southeastern Minnesota will see rain become mixed with freezing rain, sleet and snow by early Friday morning. By the time the storm ends, forecasters say the region could receive 2 to 5 inches of slushy snow. The snowfall totals in the areas covered by the winter storm warning are expected to be much higher, especially in a band running from near Marshall through the Twin Cities and into western Wisconsin. Forecasters are predicting those areas could see 8 to 18-inches of snow, with the highest amounts in far eastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin.
