Someone actually thought this was a good idea?!?!?

Students at Brodhead High School, 40 miles south of Madison, were recently told during their morning announcements that four of their classmates had died in a car accident that morning. A second announcement came after several minutes informing the kids that the four were not dead and that the first announcement was a "simulation drill."

WHAT?!?!

The principle says it was the student council's idea to promote safe-driving. The four students that 'died' weren't able to use their phones after the announcement so they couldn't let their classmates in on the hoax.

Madison Trombley, a student at the high school, told NBC 15, "A lot of our fellow friends and students actually started crying because they thought these people were actually dead and so I think a lot of them actually called their parents in school too."

The superintendent is defending the drill saying it wasn't intended to cause any harm or stress or scare students. REALLY?!? He explained this offered a real-life look at what can happen if students don't drive safely.
