Shawano, Wisconsin just passed a city ordinance which will allow police to fine parents if they can't get their kid to stop acting like a bully.

Police in Shawano, a small town near Green Bay, will work with the local schools to identify kids that are bullying. Then, according to nbc26.com, parents will have 90 days to intervene after being notified by police. If they don't and their child continues to bully, they will be fined $366. If there is a second offense within one year, they will be fined $681.

The city ordinance outlaws bullying and harassment of any kind, including on social media, within Shawano city limits.

Shawano Police Chief Mark Kohl told NBC 26, "It creates an avenue for us to work with parents to help find solutions. At this point there's no initial complaints or concerns out there, we're just being proactive in working with the community to address this."
