Stillwater, MN (KROC-AM News) - Prosecutors in Washington County have charged a Woodbury woman with five felony counts related to human labor trafficking.

35-year-old Lili Huang became the target of a human trafficking investigation after a woman was found wandering the streets in the Twin Cities suburb in the middle of the night earlier this week with numerous injuries, including two black eyes, broken ribs and a broken sternum.

She told Woodbury Police that she was from Shanghai China and had been hired to work as a nanny by Huang. After arriving in Minnesota, the woman told investigators she was forced to work up to 18 hours a day and was never allowed out of the house. She also stated that Huang took her passport after she indicated that she wished to return to China.

The woman also said she endured repeated physical assaults, including an attack on July 4th, during which Huang allegedly grabbed her by the hair and bashed her head onto a table and other hard objects.

The criminal complaint also says Woodbury Police noted the woman was extraordinarily thin and she told investigators that Huang gave her very little to eat and she had lost over 30 pounds since her arrival in the U.S.
