We all know that dogs shouldn't be left outside or in a car in this heat, BUT did you know that walking your dog today will put him/her at risk? An interesting story is making the rounds on Facebook, and I'm not going to lie, I never would have thought of this.

Imagine you are walking from the beach without shoes, and you step onto the black top. The cement is scorching hot, and makes you look like you're doing some weird jig as you hustle to get off it. Well, you're dog is sensitive, too, and CAN burn their paw pads. I've seen dogs with paw protectors during the winter, but I never would have thought to cover them during the hot summer months. Am I a terrible dog mama?

Fortunately, I found some amazing tips to help protect those pups, as the heat rises the next few days to temps we haven't seen since 2013.
