Stewartville, MN (KROC AM News) - The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a very unusual and expensive theft reported in Stewartville.

It happened sometime between the first of the year and when it was discovered on Monday.

Sheriff’s Capt. Jim Schueller says it involved surveying equipment that had been in a company truck for the winter.

Schueller says the truck had been parked in the driveway of an employee’s residence in the 300 block of 2nd St NW.

The employee reported the five stolen pieces of equipment were valued at more than $50,000. Two were valued at $25,000 each.
