Over the last couple of days I've seen several people voicing their frustrations on social media about KTTC not being available on DISH Network.

A press release from KTTC says they have been working on a new agreement with DISH for several months. KTTC says, "We offered DISH five extensions to provide more time to complete a new agreement, but unfortunately, we could not agree to the demands DISH was requiring for a new agreement." The press release also says: "DISH has a long track record of disputes and blackouts with broadcasters, including a current national dispute with Univision as well as other local stations, so what is happening with KTTC is not unusual."

DISH responded with a press release of their own which says KTTC's parent company Quincy Media is "using viewers as leverage in a demand to double its rates." Andy LeCuyer, DISH senior vice president of Programming said, "Quincy is using hostile negotiating tactics rather than trying to serve customers. Quincy has the power to restore the stations and engage in productive negotiations."

As the two continue to work out an agreement, DISH is offering digital over-the-air (OTA) antennas at no cost so that customers can watch these channels for free. DISH customers can visit DISHPromise.com for more information about antennas and other alternative viewing options.

If you are upset and would like to voice your concerns you can call DISH at 800-333-3474 and reach KTTC at 507-535-8903.
