A popular Twin Cities restaurant will be closing one of its locations doors for good on Sunday, November 14th, after being open for 28 years. The restaurant took to social media to make the announcement on November 10th, and the restaurant cited multiple reasons for the closure including the ongoing pandemic, staffing issues, road construction, and its building lease.

The announcement from Khan's Mongolian Barbecue stated:

After 28 years in Richfield, we have made the hard decision to close this location follwoing the end of service on 11/14/21.

The upcoming extensive road construction on 494 and Portland Ave, ending our current lease, ongoing pandemic difficulties, and staffing issues has le us to make this hard decision to end operations at this location.

We are so appreciative of our loyal customers that have continued to support us over the years. It has been an honor to serve you, and while this location is closing, operations at our Roseville location will continue. 2720 N Snelling Ave, Roseville MN 55113.

According to the restaurant's website, Khan's has been in business for 33 years after the family decided to bring their "focus on fresh ingredients, authentic flavors, and bringing people together" into a reality with a restaurant.

While it's sad to see a favorite close its doors, it is nice to know that Khan's won't be leaving Minnesota forever, as they will be keeping thier Roseville location open.

Khan's isn't alone in regards to the decision to close over the ongoing pandemic and staffing problems, numerous Minnesota restaurants have had to make the same tough decisions that Khan's did and close.
