Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester will not only be missing out on a white Christmas but may also experience another round of record temperatures.

Thursday’s official high temperature at the Rochester airport was 41 degrees. That was six degrees shy of the record for the date.

Friday’s record high is 41 degrees (1953) and that may be broken by noon, making this the warmest Christmas Eve based on current National Weather Service records. The NWS is forecasting highs in the mid-40s. If the record is broken, it would be the second time this month.

The warmup will be short-lived as high temps on Christmas Day and Sunday are expected to peak around 30 degrees. And - there IS snow in the forecast Sunday night, maybe an inch.
