A beautiful and unique Minnesota restaurant that I actually wrote about back in 2021 has sadly closed their doors. It looked like such an amazing place and I was hoping to be able to go there someday.

The restaurant was so unique because it was unique because it was inside a former bank from the 1940s. There were still hints of the building's former life, and it looked awesome.

Fittingly, the restaurant was called Bank and was in the area that used to be the lobby of the Farmers and Mechanics Bank in Minneapolis. The rest of the building is the Westin Hotel. Both the Westin and Bank have been around since 2007.

But as of the end of January, that is no longer the case.

Bank Restaurant in Minneapolis, MN Closes

The Westin is still open, but now a new restaurant is going to be taking the place of Bank.

The hotel has an announcement on their website that the new restaurant will be coming this spring. Bring Me the News writes that it's going to be a steakhouse. That type of restaurant would definitely fit the already existing vibe of the building.

I just really hope that they don't do too much to what's already there. Bank kept traces of the old bank in their design, which is part of what made it so unique.

Their wine was even stored in the vault!

So like I said, I'm hoping the new restaurant leaves at least some of the remnants of the former bank because the design was just beautiful and unlike most other restaurants these days.
