13 Rochester Restaurants That Aren’t Talked About Enough

Bull's Bierhaus is an 'old European-inspired' restaurant located across the street from 125 Live near the Rochester Recreation Center.

Cantonese Cafe has been around since 1952 and features delicious Chinese cuisine. You can find them just east of Best Buy.

Carona's Tacos serves up incredible, authentic Mexican food right off of Broadway, just north of downtown in the same shopping area where Glynner's used to be.

A small but insanely good Chinese hand-pulled noodle restaurant, First Meeting is located east of the Apache Mall off of 16th St SW. You can even watch the people hand-pulling the noodles!

I put these two together because Food Lab is the physical sit-down restaurant spin-off of the Taco Lab food truck. Taco Lab has been serving up incredible tacos in the parking lot where Daube's used to be, across from the Barlow Plaza, for a while now. Food Lab just opened a few years ago and also serves delicious Mexican food. Food Lab is off of 7th St. NW, north of Barlow Plaza.

Lumi is a popular restaurant in the Twin Cities, but I don't think it's gotten its due time in the spotlight here in Rochester. It's SO good! They offer a variety of food, but it's mostly Turkish cuisine. They're located right in the heart of downtown.

Nupa has two locations in Rochester serving up Greek food. They've been around for a little while, but there are still too many people who don't know about their amazing gyros. One location is right by Barlow Plaza, and the other is right by 14 and Broadway by Hy-Vee.

Located right on 7th St. NW by Cooke Park, Old Abe is a coffee shop and vegan fast-casual restaurant in an old house. Don't be put off by it being vegan, even my meat-eating husband loves going here! They also sell super good donuts.

Ollin is the newest restaurant on this list. They just opened a few months ago, but people are loving it so much that they were mentioned multiple times when I asked which restaurants don't get talked about enough, so here they are on the list! They serve traditional Mexican cuisine in their restaurant near Costco.

Another Greek spot that people think doesn't get enough attention is Opa Opa!. You can find this Rochester staple off of 14 near the east Cub Foods.

Located downtown by Civic Center Dr. and Broadway, The Redwood Room is a spot that locals say is totally not talked about enough. They serve your familiar American eats along with cocktails and lots of live music.

Enjoy some delicious American fare at Saints on 2nd, which is, shocker, on 2nd St! It's located right across from St. Mary's.
