Out of the thousands of cities in Minnesota, Byron is named one of the best places to live for a healthy and fit lifestyle. How cool is that?

The list comes from Bar Bend. They used 11 different metrics backed by scientific research to determine which cities are the healthiest. Taking into consideration mental distress, physical inactivity, air pollution, obesity levels, number of people that smoke, and more.

Coming in at number 7, Byron represented Southeast Minnesota in a huge and healthy way. Showing it's a great city to live in with no drinking water violations, lots of access to healthy food, several exercise opportunities, and more. North Oaks came in number one, followed by Credit River, White Bear, Arden Hills, Savage, and Prior Lake. Shoreview, Vadnais Heights, and Shakopee round out the top 10.

So where did our neighboring cities come in? Rochester was number 16, Stewartville was 22, Fairbault is 99, Austin 101, Owatonna 113, and Kasson at 122.

Minnesota was actually all around a pretty stellar state to live. According to Bar Bend, "many studies have found Minnesota to be the most health educated state with a significant prevalence of gym facilities that bring that education to life. A strong health atmosphere, combined with diverse natural landscapes, makes it perfect for fitness gurus to up their health routines."
