The National Weather Service in Lacrosse has confirmed a tornado touched down near the Charles City Fairgrounds and has issued a warning to southeast Minnesota.

Update 1:50 pm:  The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Olmsted County until 2:30 pm.

At 150 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located near Wykoff, or 14
miles northwest of Preston, moving north at 45 mph.

HAZARD...Damaging tornado.

SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage
to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is
likely.

This tornado will be near...
Eyota around 210 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by this tornadic thunderstorm include
Predmore, County Roads 9 And 10, I 90 Exit 218, I 90 Exit 224, County
Roads 137 And 136, Fillmore and Century High School.

Update 1 pm:  The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Mower and Fillmore Counties until 1:45 pm.


The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement for Olmsted County until 2:30 pm.

...FUNNEL CLOUDS POSSIBLE IN THE AREA... ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS OVER PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST IOWA AND SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA WILL FAVORABLE FOR THE FORMATION OF SHORT LIVED FUNNELS THROUGH 230 PM. THESE FUNNELS ARE USUALLY HARMLESS, BUT ON RARE OCCASIONS CAN BRIEFLY TOUCH DOWN AND CAUSE WIND GUSTS OVER 50 MPH. IF A FUNNEL APPROACHES YOUR LOCATION, MOVE INDOORS.
