The king of beers, Bud Light paid a visit to the Land of 10,000 Lakes last week. But its how they arrived that's getting our attention!

In case you've been living under a rock that past few months, the phrase "dilly dilly" has been all over the place. At first I wasn't sure of what to think of it, but like everyone else I've worked it into my daily vocabulary.

The Internets most inescapable catchphrase also seems to have inspired Modist Brewing Company of Minneapolis as they were set to release their new Dilly Dilly Mosaic Double IPA.

However, on Friday, December 1, the same day Dilly Dilly the craft beer was to release, Modist received a cease and desist letter from Bud Light...by scroll!

That's right, Bud Light delivered the C&D via a Town Crier!

"Let it be known that any beer shared between friends is a fine beer indeed and we are duly flattered by your loyal tribute. However Dilly Dilly is the motto of our realm, so we humbly ask that you keep this to a limited edition. This is by order of the king, disobedience shall be met with additional scrolls, then a formal warning, then a private tour of the Pit of Misery."

Honestly, this has to be one of the funniest and most clever marketing moves I've ever seen. Bravo to Bud Light, and the bar for being such great sports about it too.

If you're a fan of Bud Light, or beer in general, then you can sample over 100 of them this weekend at Rochester on Tap! For more info and to buy your tickets CLICK HERE and save $10.
