Crash Near Mankato Leaves Child With Life Threatening Injuries
Eagle Lake, MN (KROC-AM News) - The State Patrol says a young child was critically injured in a traffic crash near Mankato Saturday evening.
The crash report indicates the 6-year-old girl was a passenger in a car driven by 32-year-old Amber Atherton of Waterville, who caused the crash by pulling out into the path of a pickup truck by attempting to take a left turn onto Highway 14 at an intersection in Eagle Lake. The girl, whose name has not been released, was transported to the Hennepin County Medical Center. The driver and a 4-year-old boy in the same car were taken to the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Mankato with non-life threatening injuries.
The three occupants of the pickup were not injured.
