We only have a few months of nice weather every year in Minnesota, so we need to make the most of it! Time to get outdoors and enjoy the summer.

Getting outdoors could mean having a bonfire in your backyard, going camping, or hitting the water. If hiking is something you enjoy doing, boy, do I have a spot that you need to go to.

There's one particular hiking trail in Minnesota that was just named the best trail in the entire country. Yeah, not just one of the best, but THE best!

The Best State Park in Minnesota

The rankings of the best hiking trails come from USA Today's 10 Best, and they also did one of these lists for the best state parks in the country.

Yes, a Minnesota state park made that list, too. It was Gooseberry Falls State Park! Well deserved, it's a great place to go.

Every time USA Today does these 10 Best lists, they always have an initial list that's been selected by a panel of experts. Then, we all get to vote for our favorites. Based on those votes, the top 10 are revealed.

So either Minnesotans are really committed to voting for these things, or other people agree that we've got some pretty cool outdoor options!

Devil's Kettle is part of the Judge C.R. Magney State Park. My husband and I actually went there either in 2020 or 2021. It's a really cool state park, we literally had no cell service (and it was awesome), and Devil's Kettle is also very cool.

The Devil's Kettle Trail is 1.9 miles and is an out-and-back trail, so no loop. Your hike will take you to the Devil's Kettle waterfall and then, when you're done admiring the falls, you'll make your way back the way you came.

All Trails describes it as being a moderate trail, but I don't remember it being too bad when we did it a few years ago.

The trail is also part of the Superior Hiking Trail.

While you're out on the trails, Devil's Kettle or anywhere else, keep an eye out for these dangerous plants that you can find around Minnesota. They could spell trouble if you touch them.

The Most Dangerous Plants in Minnesota You Should Never Touch

Minnesota has a few plants that are dangerous and you should never touch them. They can cause an itch, a rash, and one can even be fatal.
