Rochester, MN  (KROC AM News) - Guests of a Rochester motel were sent into the cold early Wednesday after a fire was reported in a second-floor room.

The fire was reported around 4:15 AM at the Quality Inn at 1620 1st Ave SE, near Graham Park.

The Rochester Fire Dept. says the fire was found near a lamp on a table in the room. It was put out by a police officer using a fire extinguisher. Smoke and fire damage was limited to that room and guests were allowed to return to their rooms. No injuries were reported.

The Rochester Police Dept. is assisting in the investigation into the cause of the fire.
