Delicious Mexican Restaurant Hidden Inside a Minnesota Gas Station
Sometimes the best food is found in the most unexpected places. And this is a perfect example of that. This Mexican restaurant is located in Eagan, Minnesota and is inside of a gas station!
Hole-in-the-wall restaurants are always the best. Most of the time there's lots of care put into the food being served. So I would love to check out this spot up in the Twin Cities.
Mexican Restaurant Inside an Eagan, MN Gas Station
The restaurant is called El Sazon Tacos and More. They're located inside a BP gas station in Eagan, MN on Diffley Road just off of 35E. They were recently featured in the Star Tribune and I had to know more.
It started soon after COVID, so they're pretty new, and the owners are husband and wife. The husband, Cristian, is the chef who is from Guatemala. Their website says "his main focus [is] Latin cuisine, but along the way has fallen in love with other cultures and often incorporates flavors from around the world to his dishes."
The food sounds and looks amazing!
They have tacos, burritos, and bowls, but they also have ramen, pizza, and brunch. Also, all of their ingredients are "locally sourced" and "prepared fresh daily".
The next time I'm in the area I'm going to have to check them out. They're open Monday through Saturday 11 AM - 7 PM and they are closed on Sundays.
They also sometimes do whole 5-course meals at the gas station! WHAT?! So keep your eyes peeled on their Facebook page for the next one.
